Oasis Semiconductor designs ASICs exclusively for the office automation market. Oasis believes that this specific customer focus is required to create chips that have the appropriate mix of low-cost and high performance. Oasis creates dedicated products expressly designed to satisfy the needs of copier, scanner, printer, fax and multi-functional peripheral manufacturers.

In 1997, Oasis began to ship its first chip, the

Digi-CopyTM ASIC. Geared toward the low-cost digital copier and MFP markets, the DigiCopy converts the grayscale output typical of a scanner CCD or CIS element into a bi-tonal format suitable for printing or faxing, while cleanly handling mixtures of photographs and text.

In the summer of 1999, Oasis completed the DigiColor OA-980TM ASIC. DigiColor is a complete color MFP on a chip, providing scanner input, image processing, compression, memory management and control of inkjet or laser printers.
